Lotus wind gongs are handcrafted in China from a special bronze alloy. They are available in sizes of 20, 24, 28, 32 and 36 inches. The larger the gong, the deeper and louder the sound when struck. Each wind gong includes a wooden mallet with gong cover and a zippered carrying bag.
The lotus wind gong has an almost flat shape with no curving backward on the outer edge. Its surface is treated with varying degrees of distortion on the outer edge, in the center and in the middle area, which in itself provides a very special and characteristic appearance with a partially shiny matte gold finish. However, the lotus flower of the wind gong stands out in particular because of its elegant lotus pattern worked into the outer areas. The lotus flower, also known as the "flower of life", has many spiritual meanings - among others, it represents purity of mind, creativity, wisdom and enlightenment.
The gong is an integral part of many cultures around the world, producing a soothing, persistent, and profound sound. Depending on how hard, where and what the Lotus Wind gong is struck, different ranges of frequencies come to the fore. It can be played in many more ways than at first appears.
